Nokia’s New Windows 7 Phones: Lumia 710 And Lumia 800 [SPECS + PICS + VIDEOS]
Earlier this week, at Nokia’s keynote event at Nokia World 2011, Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop unveiled Nokia’s entry into the Windows 7 Phone market: Lumia 710 and Lumia 800. The Lumia 800 had previously been dubbed “Sea Ray” in a leaked video from early in the year. Nokia also unveiled the Asha series of phones for the developing market. Asha is Hindi for “Hope”. We’ll take a look at both phones one after the other.
Nokia Lumia 710
Lumia 710 is a 3.7-inch, 119 x 62.4 x 12.5mm, weighing 125.5g, it’s a touchscreen device with 800 x 400 resolution and ClearBlack TFT so you can read in sunlight. The phone packs a 5MP rear camera with auto-focus and an LED flash. On the inside, it’s packed with a 1.4GHz processor, hardware acceleration and graphics processor. There’s also 8GB of storage memory and 512MB of RAM. It has quadband radio reception, 3G up to HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth.
It’s OS is Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) and offers social network integration with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Nokia has added a few packages such as Nokia Drive a GPS navigation app offering free turn-by-turn navigation and the latest version of Nokia Music offering ‘MixRadio’ a subscription feature that allows you listen to music channels without you having to login or subscribe.
Lumia 710 will be available in Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan by November 2011 and will launch in other markets in early 2012. It is expected to cost around €270 before any local taxes or subsidies are added.

Nokia Lumia 800
The Lumia 800 is a polycarbonate phone with an AMOLED ClearBlack display with toughened glass stretching to the sides of the phone. The Back, Start and Search buttons on the front of the screen are set in the glassfor easy use. For colour freaks, the phone comes in black, cyan and magenta.
On the inside, it comes with a 1.4GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage memory, with to 25GB of free SkyDrive storage for your files. Talktime for the battery is rated at up to 13 hours, or standby for up to 335 hours. It measures 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1mm and weighs 142g and packs an 8MP Carl Zeiss auto-focus camera and LED Flash. Like the 710, it runs on Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango).
Lumia 800 offers the same additional Nokia features as the Lumia 710: Nokia Drive navigation and the new MixRadio feature for Nokia Music. Nokia says, The Nokia Lumia 800 will be available from November in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK, across 31 operators. It’s estimated at €420, before any local taxes or subsidies. Other countries including Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan will see the Nokia Lumia 800 before the end of the year. The rest of the world will get it in early 2012.
